TELLS STORY OF HOW FRANK ASSUMES HIS EVERYDAY RESPONSIBILITIES AT HOME, AT SCHOOL, & ON HIS PAPER ROUTE, & IS REWARDED BY BEING GIVEN A PEDIGREED DOG BY A MAN ON HIS PAPER ROUTE WHO HAS OBSERVED HIS ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY.
Frank Harris is a hard-working kid with a paper route that he diligently maintains. He is given a dog, Pal, by Mr. Morgan, one of the customers on his route. For one week with the new dog he must prove to his parents that he can maintain his responsibilities in order to be able to keep Pal.

Yooo..Rinty! (Rintie?)
OK, I cringed when Mr Morgan asked the kid for his address and then showed up at the house but since I didn't see Sid Davis in the credits I figured this had to be about something else.
Come to think of it, I saw this film in school as a kid in the 1950's. Swore right then and there I'd never deliver newspapers. This poor kid doesn't have a life and then stays up 'til 10 PM ruminating over all the stuff that stuffed vest dad of his expects him to do. In my world - same day and age as this...only the poor adopted kid 2 doors down (with remarkably similar looking and acting parents to those in this film) had to do stuff like that.
Anyone notice Mom sure had a glint in her eye when she saw Mr Morgan - but what's to wonder, look what she's married to. Yuck.
